The Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centres (GN-SEC) is presented as a case study in the side event “South-South and triangular cooperation for harnessing opportunities of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)” during the African Union Extraordinary Summit on Industrialization, Economic Diversification and AfCFTA, taking place in Niamey, Niger. The event will be held in a virtual format on 23rd November 2022 from 14:00 to 15:30 Nairobi Time.

The event is expected to bring together more than 100 high-level stakeholders; and will be addressed by high level dignitaries from Africa and the international community. The participants will include Africa’s industrial development stakeholders, including African Heads of State/Government, Ministers, the African Union Commission, UN agencies, African regional organizations and the private sector, financial institutions, donors, civil society, non-governmental organizations, academia, and media.

The side event is organized by UNIDO’s Office of South-South and Triangular Cooperation in cooperation with the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), and the African Export Import Bank (AFREXIMBANK).
